Beyond today: my wish list #3

This is my #wishlist of shiny new stuff I would like to have in the near future in no particular order of preference.

Wishes are the wings of human aspiration.

I’m trying very hard to think of some non-technological wishes. Or, in other words, wishes that are not “stuff”.

What would I wish for? A billion pounds? The world’s money-based economy is shyte right now so let’s make it a trillion. £1,000,000,000.00. Maybe in gold? All I would probably do with all that cash/gold is just buy stuff I don’t really need.

If I had one wish, would I simply wish for 10 more wishes of equal strength? Yes, that sounds more like me! It would take the pressure off and give me time to really think the wishes through. I would not want to get into a Bedazzled (2000) type of situation though, where every wish is granted but comes with a catch which I did not foresee. So here goes…

Nope! I’m coming up empty. And that’s not good. It goes to show that we humans are driven by materialism. It’s in our nature. I don’t think it would matter if I had lived 500 years ago; I would probably have been wishing for more land or more cattle or more gold and silver. Stuff.

I could pretend to be like one of those beauty pageant queens who always wish for world peace. Or wish that plastic was never invented. Maybe a time machine to go back and ensure that it isn’t. I just don’t know.

Let’s make this tough… one wish, and it can’t be for “stuff”. And no, I can’t wish for 10 more wishes.

One wish

I would wish for all the knowledge in the universe, and the ability to retain it in my head. To know the secrets of all things organic and inorganic, and remember them, and be able to recall them at will, and speak them at will, and teach them at will.

That should take care of all the loopholes.

If that wish was ever granted, I would probably die on the spot, as that would literally make me a god amongst men, at the very least. It is too much power to hold and I’d likely be crushed by the weight.

Oh, but the fun I would have with this one wish!
