Beyond today: my wish list #4
This is my #wishlist of shiny new stuff I would like to have in the near future in no particular order of preference.
A recurring random thought that I will add to its own special wishlist.
I wish I could have a toaster with a digital timer (like on a microwave oven). That way, I could toast a slice of bread for exactly 124 seconds if I so desired.
The problem with toasters is they all have mechanical timers. I have seen some toasters with digital displays but they are just numbered 1 to 6; not actually a digital timer like most modern microwave have. This has never made much sense to me. It is very difficult to estimate the correct toasting time for your bread, and one ends up either leaving it in too long or under-toasting by overriding the timer too early. I like having “just right” toast. I also really like toast, can you tell?
Another problem with today’s toasters is that one side of the heating elements seem to slow down or completely stop working after some time, resulting in ony one side toasted to perfection. That never seems to happen in a grill, for example. Why is that?
Toasters definitely need more care, attention and TLC from manufacturers; they are an important part of my breakfast so I demand action! I really do wonder when Dyson are going to turn their attention to sorting out my problem for me.
