Enough about Linux and tech! I’m doing money now.
It has been a while. A few months have whizzed by since I last posted here. And a few months have also gone by since I last updated my budget spreadsheet.
I’m fairly careful with my outgoings but where I’m sorely lacking is my forward-looking forecasting. I could not, for example, give an exact figure down to the nearest pound of what my monthly outgoings are. Therefore, how would I know exactly what to budget for the following month? For someone who likes to meticulously organise everything into neat little boxes, this was a bit of a wake-up call and definitely my number one WTH moment of the year. This is unacceptable; there was no order to be found anywhere!
After a stern talk with myself (in my head…yes, I still hear voices in there from time-to-time), I realised that it was finally time to get smarter with my money.
I’m going to catalogue the journey here because I need to.
At school, no one is ever taught about money; not in my day and certainly not today.
We need to talk about money.
