I love e-mail. There! I said (wrote) it!

I mean, what’s not to love? It’s tried-and-tested, stable; my go-to means of communication. It’s secure (if I encrypt my e-mails), private (I can self-host it) and I can take it anywhere I go.

As a Linux user, I am, erm, a bit short of options when it comes to e-mail clients, though. It is either Thunderbird or something else which looks like it’s from 1970-something. Betterbird is now where my IMAP folders live but again, this is more of the same. It is (slightly) cooler than Thunderbird in terms of advances and bug fixes but too…samesy. Sigh!

I’m still searching for that special client. I wish that some bored, fed-up dev somewhere would make a solid e-mail client which does only e-mail. I don’t really need all the bells and whistles like calendars, chat, to-do lists, etc.

Thankfully, my undying love of e-mail keeps me sane and sustained day-to-day, hoping…
